Nino D'Amico
ItalyNino D’Amico (EUROSTRINGS ARTIST 2019/2020), was born in Ottaviano (Naples) on the 6th of May 1997, was graduated in Enogastronomic and began studying classical at the age of 12 directed by his father. Later, for more than 5 years had been followed by Prof. Marco Caiazza, known for his studies on the virtuoso technique for guitar, and was admitted to the Conservatory “San Pietro a Majella” in Naples (2013), where he became part of the class of Prof. Vincenzo Amabile. Nino has undertaken his first chamber music workshop held by the Professors Sergio and Dora Cantella in 2013. In April 2014 he took part in his first masterclass, with the Cuban composer, guitarist and conductor LEO BROUWER, and later, after a great period of study, he had the opportunity to attend various other masterclasses held by renowned Masters, such as Marco Caiazza, Giulio Tampalini, Frédéric Zigante, Aniello Desiderio, Andrea De Vitis, Antonio Rugolo, Gabriel Bianco, Peter Graneis, David Pavlovits, Csaki Andras, Giran Peter, Lucio Matarazzo, Giovanni Podera, Alvaro Pierri, Marcin Dylla, Fabio Zanon, Paolo Pegoraro and Christian Saggese, moreover, Throughout the course Eurostrings he has the precious opportunity to participate in numerous masterclasses, held by the great world-famous Masters, such as Rovshan Mamedkuliev, Anton Baranov, Tilman Hoppstock, Goran Krivokapic, Mats Bergstrom, Judicael Perroy, Andras Csaki, Anabel Montesinos and Zoran Dukic .
For several years he attended the guitar seminar of the Castellaneta Civic School (Taranto) with Prof. Frédéric Zigante and Antonio Rugolo. On April the 1st, 2019, he obtained the Bachelor Diploma, with the highest marks and praise. In the same year he attended the Masterclasses held at the Stefano Strata under the guidance of M° Aniello Desiderio, who awarded him the “Roberto Borghini” scholarship as the best student of the course. In November 2019 he will access the biennium under the guidance of M° Aniello Desiderio.
On May the 28th 2019, Nino is winner of the EUROSTRINGS Scholarship that gave him the opportunity to partecipate in the INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL Harmonia Cordis (ROMANIA / Targu Mures) as part of the Competition and the MasterClass. Subsequently he gains access to the finals (ROMANIA) and with immense gratitude he wins the FIRST PRIZE at the prestigious international competition by redeeming the EUROSTRINGS ARTIST 2019/2020 plate and winning a fabulous guitar worth € 5,000 by the guitar maker Vasilis Sigletos. Through interviews and performances, Nino starts the EUROSTRINGS experience by touring Europe competing with guitarists from all over the classical world.
In 2020, Nino starts his concert career in Europe thanks to the collaboration with the European Guitar Festival EUROSTRINGS, getting great successes in numerous competitions and concerts and obtaining prestigious prizes. Despite the pandemic period, he makes his debut in the most renowned festivals and participates in famous online events.
– On March 18, 2020 he publishes an online video, inviting musicians, especially guitarists, to stay at home and concentrate on the study and technique of the instrument; that video gets great feedback from many users.
– On April 6, 2020 he collaborates with many guitarists on the platform for the creation of a streaming concert for ensamble music, given by the union of the videos of the individual performances – a real exciting project. Moreover , he is the sponsor of important ( great) festivals involved in the project, sharing thoughts, tastes and everything related to the circle of classical music in Europe.
– On May 20, 2020 he performs his first online live concert, which is very successful, also thanks to the sharing by many users and Festivals. The program boasts one of the most beautiful pieces of the Baroque repertoire: Bach’s CIACCONA. According to the regulations in force for the containment of the pandemic, Nino begins a path of live concerts and competitions all over the world, highlighting his professional figure and thus increasing his gratitude towards the magnificent instrument that is the guitar.
– From 8 to 12 September 2020 he has the opportunity to play two live concerts in the beautiful city of Targu Mures, Romania, in collaboration with the HARMONIA CORDIS Festival. He performs in the suggestive Kis SZENT TERÉZ church, in Odorhei Secuiesc and in the CETATEA MEDIEVAL castle; hence his concert activities, rich in masterclasses and with multiple didactic commitments.
– On 27 September 2020 he performs in an online concert in collaboration with ZAGREB GUITAR FESTIVAL (Zagreb), participating in masterclasses and other activities.
– From 7 to 12 October 2020 He leaves to the city of Uppsala, Sweden, to perform in a wonderful concert in the Konsert and Kongress of the city, obtaining the great praise of the whole classical guitar community, collaborating with the UPPSALA International Guitar Festival .
– On October 18th 2020 he takes part in the online concert with M ° Judical Perroy, within the SZEGED GUITAR FESTIVAL.
– On 25 October 2020 he debuts in online concerts from Germany, for the NUERTINGEN INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL.
–On October 29, 2020 he performs an online concert with the collaboration of GuitArt Festival Plovdiv.

In 2021 he began his success by publishing the preview of his first CD dedicated to “Agustin Barrios Mangore” in collaboration with the DotGuitar record company followed by Maestro Lucio Matarazzo, Aniello Desiderio and Mauro Tamburrini entitled “AGUSTIN BARRIOS WORKS”!
– Subsequently he receives an important recognition as “Golden Guitar” as Revelation of the year 2021 at the 26th International Guitar Convention in Milan.

He has played / is playing for some of the most prestigious national and international musical associations. He debuted at his first concert at the Auser Association “M. Giuliano” of Salerno in 2014, then he performed at “Sala Filangieri “at the State Archives of Naples, achieving the Diploma of Merit. Participates in multiple concerts throughout Italy obtained from the awards of the competitions, winning scholarships for the most deserving students and more.
He plays on a guitar made by Alessandro Marseglia in 2021.
